Samir Nu'man is a Brazilian-Palestinian actor based in Toronto, ON, currently in his fourth term at Toronto Film School, where he is studying acting, writing, and directing for Film, TV, and Theatre. He recently wrote and produced the short silent film Silent But Dead(ly). Samir’s acting journey began in 2006 with Shakespearean workshops, followed by his role as Moritz in Spring Awakening, the musical based on Frank Wedekind’s German play, produced by the award-winning Grupo Caixa Preta de Teatro. He further refined his craft at the Latin American Film Institute under the guidance of method actor and filmmaker Tristan Aronovich, exploring Stanislavsky, Meisner, and Strasberg techniques, and starring in the short film Antimonotonia. His on-camera experience includes being a spokesperson for Federal Invest Franchising, a national Brazilian company, demonstrating his versatility across various media. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Samir brings a global perspective to his work. His goal is to challenge conventional casting standards by portraying diverse, relatable characters that reflect the vibrant reality of immigrant communities in Toronto and the Americas, promoting inclusivity in the industry.
